This flag was adopted on February 3, 1905. The colors of the flag are red, white, blue and crimson. The flag was designed in1905. The designer is LeRoy Reeves. The design has three stars that represent the three different land forms in Tennessee. Mountains in the east, highlands in the middle and lowlands in the west. In the design the regions are bound together by an unbroken circle. The field is crimson with a blue background for the stars. The final blue strip relieves the sameness of the crimson field and prevents the flag from showing too much crimson when it is limp. All outdoor flags are finished with heading and brass grommets (H&G). PH denotes pole hem for indoor and parade use. PHF denotes pole hem and gold fringe.
